I think you should have standards when it comes to immigration like education, skills and employability, etc. And other times we take people in because they are displaced (sometimes it’s because America has fucked them up somehow). That’s how it works.
Just don’t expect people from countries that think the US is a shithole to be pounding in the door.
When we, the USA, do shit to utterly destroy a country, economically or otherwise, I think it’s on us to let their refugees (economic or otherwise) in. Some countries do that. For instance, Portugal allows entry to citizens of their former colonies. Cause they fucked them over. It may not be ideal for the developed country, but it’s fucking karma.
