They forced an upgrade on me but I’m glad they did since it’s so much better.
I got the little notification icon down in my system tray warning me it ain’t gonna be free much longer. I’ll probably do the upgrade tonight. I only use my home desktop to browse anyway. I occasionally use Libre Office to make a simple doc. That’s it. I don’t run shit otherwise on that machine. 10 shouldn’t make any difference.

I hate to admit it, mangs, but I bought this comp in the fall of 2007. It only has 500 megs of memory and it runs Win6 without SP1 or SP2.
I’ve never even opened the case to clean it.

Processor is semi-fast still, fans are quiet, All it needs is another gig or 2 of memory, and a Ubuntu conversion.
Ubuntu is great unless you want to run something
just get the mem - it will make a big diff
Except for games and maybe some specialized software, what can’t you do in Ubuntu?
Even the drivers for almost everything are available in ubuntu today
Why go to the effort and even if you get it to work it will not look as nice as windows
