Why do they keep dying?

@Lotus has asked, and others of us have wondered, “What’s with these guys?”

I think I’ve found the answer in Hebrew scripture…

All our days pass away under your wrath;
we finish our years with a moan.
Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

(Psalm 90: 9-12)

Like LB I was wondering about that too, it just seems that suddenly many of our music Icons are dying on us, but I wrote it off on the fact that us Boomer’s are just at that age when this tends to happen, as per the Hebe Scripture.

It could save Social Security.

So, Spoon, you’re saying God’s wrath is killing them off?

No, Lotus. The wrath part is just the Mosaic (maybe Abrahamic) way of anthromorphizing life and death. What the Hebes got right was acceptance of the idea that we all die, and the wish that SOMEONE would teach us to “number our days.”

I remember this documentary I saw once as a kid when I was home sick from school, I think it was about “Numbering our days”

I don’t think that I’ll ever get over Cecil the Lion.
