I read the Walter Tevis novel in 1963, when it first came out, because Iād been so impressed with The Hustler. It was several years later that I became aware of Bowie, when he introduced Ziggy. I said to my brother, and he agreed, that Bowie would be perfect if there was ever a movie of TMWFTE.
And so it was.
