I love these things. I just got 3 to set up in the stairwell up and down and one by the fuse box should the power go out, frees up a hand to work on things, no flashlight needed. Battery operated and has sticky back tape. I also have one in the hallway heading towards the upstairs bathroom to light the way and light the hall closet where the meds/toiletries are kept.

Fetch eneloop batteries so you don’t have to buy batteries
get a decent charger
I have a little one for years on some steps - works great - but eats batteries, but I don’t care cause I just charge them
