Serious question. Is Emeryville or Daly City worth considering to live in? SF is just too bloody pricy.
What’s your budget? It’s all expensive.

Years ago in college I had a friend who had family in Daly City, he talked it up a lot as being a very nice “small town” right next to the big town. So a lot of the bennies of SFO due to proximity, but then just far enough away to feel less California and a bit more Oregon. (ie population density)
Budget: I’d go up to $3k if transit worked. (No want car in SF)
Must allow dogs.
Nothing imminent, but a guy can dream.
$3k a month? That’s going to be very difficult to find unless you’re willing to settle for a 2 bedroom place or an undesirable neighborhood.
